Britain’s new chancellor visits China to promote business opportunities

Britain’s newly appointed finance minister Philipp Hammond came to China for the G20 summit and met Chinese investors to tell that “Britain is open for business” despite voting to leave the European Union.
Hammond visited Beijing and Hong Kong “to promote British business opportunities, with a strong emphasis on the financial services sector,” the treasury said.
According to the treasury, the UK’s decision to leave the EU will not affect the global partnership between the UK and China.
Speaking of the possibilities in Britain’s financial sector, Hammond stressed that the UK still remains one of the global leaders and will always be open for business and international investment.
Moreover, Hammond said Britain’s economy is fundamentally strong and has trading with low taxes.
In 2015, Britain’s exports to China totaled 18 billion pounds, 3.5 times higher than in 2009.
