According to the report Connecting to Compete 2016: Trade Logistics in the Global Economy, produced by the World Bank, Germany was ranked 1st on its trade logistic performance second time in a row.
The following factors determined the logistics efficiency: infrastructure, legal framework, politics and geographical position. LPI is used to measure logistics performance and 160 countries were ranked according to the five-point grading scale. Among the criteria measuring countries’ logistics performance, there were the efficiency of customs clearance, international shipment management, local logistics efficiency, logistics cost inside the country, promptness of delivery.
Over the past six years, the world’s top logistics performers have remained consistent. Germany, Netherlands and Singapore top the table. The worst LPI have countries weakened by the military conflicts, unstable political situations, as well as the ones suffered from natural disasters.
