The comments of Canadian Foreign Minister Stephane Dion came as soon as the results of the US presidential election became known. During his campaign, Donald Trump made no bones about praising Russian President Vladimir Putin.
According to Dion, the behavior of Russia in Ukraine and Syria is problematic.

Russian officials welcomed Trump’s election. Putin said he was ready to restore ties with Washington. However, the Russian Foreign Ministry has no illusions.
Meanwhile, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev during his tour to the Middle East said that Russia does not expect the sanctions to be lifted.
