President-elect Donald Trump announced that some parts of the Mexican border can go without a wall.
He said that the wall may have some fence sections where it would be appropriate. That way, Trump corrected his symbolic campaign promise that gained support of many Americans, who were unhappy with the high influx of immigrants.
Last week James Woolsey, Donald Trump’s adviser for foreign policy and former CIA director, cooled off jitters regarding wall construction on the Mexican border and offered to build only a fence.
The host of CBS TV-show “60 minutes” asked Donald Trump whether he is really going to build a wall. The president-elect answered that “there could be some fencing”, but “for certain areas a wall is more appropriate”.
At the beginning of the campaign trail, Trump promised to build a wall on the Mexican border.
On November 8, during the presidential election about 60.3 billion people voted for Trump, and 60.8 billion people were for Clinton. However, the US electoral system consists of two rounds, thus, Trump obtained the majority of votes from the Electoral College that determines the outcome of the presidential race.
