American businesses come to terms with Trump

Nowadays, even in such democratic countries like the US, the business is not eager to engage in open confrontation with the government. Perhaps, that is why Mark Bertolini, CEO of health insurance giant Aetna, appealed to all representatives of large-scale businesses “to acknowledge Trump’s victory and build collaborative relationship with him.”

His words have been heard. Influential American businessmen came to terms with Trump and intend to support the President-elect. Interestingly, during the presidential race the vast majority of the US entrepreneurs supported Hillary Clinton, thus, after Trump’s victory, they have no other choice but to give him the silent treatment. But now, according to Mark Bertolini, businesses should accept Trump as the new president and take a reality check. Trump will head the White House, and any confrontation between him and the American business reduces the chances of stable growth of the US economy. Similarly, JP Morgan management reminded all their employees that “the company is open for everyone.” Tim Cook, Apple CEO, also called on his colleagues to “maintain an open dialogue with the President-elect.”

Those who against all odds backed the underdog during the presidential race are already reaping the benefits and taking high-end offices. Billionaire Peter Thiel, the founder of PayPal, is one of the few magnates in Silicon Valley who openly supported the Republican nominee. Now he will join the new presidential administration.
