Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and Russian President Vladimir Putin agreed for economic cooperation in agriculture and fisheries. The memorandum of cooperation was signed by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Japan.
According to the press release of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture, the document provides legal base for expansion and strengthening of cooperation between Russia and Japan in the agricultural sector. In particular, it implies conducting business missions with the participation of companies from each of the parties, as well as activities and joint seminars in the field of agriculture and fisheries.
The Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation added that under this agreement the work to boost mutual trade will be carried out as well as to promote Russian agricultural products on the markets of the Asia-Pacific region.
