The mass media still continue to discuss the Eurovision Song Contest which was held some time ago. It seemed there was no stone left unturned concerning this event. Recently, though, Switzerland has arrested the Ukrainian security Deposit.
An impressive amount of 15 million euros is provided by the Eurovision host country to guarantee the successful holding of the contest. Some experts immediately claimed that the Deposit was frozen because the Russian representative was banned from participating in Eurovision. The singer from Russia was not allowed to enter Ukraine. As a result, Russia refused to replace its representative for some reason.
Nonetheless, the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) said the Geneva Department of Compulsory Debt Collection initiated the procedure of seizure of the Ukrainian Deposit but it neither disclosed the grounds for doing that nor indicated the initiator of this procedure.
