By 2025 the USA is expected to become top oil and gas exporter, is said in the market outlook released annually by the American oil-and-gas corporation ExxonMobil. In 2010 the United States imported about 35% of the required oil.
By 2040 the USA will export five percent of all oil and 15% of gas produced. Meanwhile, from 2010 up to 2040 oil production will increase by 40%, and oil consumption, on the contrary, will slowly decelerate and in 27 years will shrink by 5%. To compare, the countries of the Asia-Pacific Region, as forecasted by ExxonMobil, will import about 40% of all energy supply by 2040.
The American corporation connects the increase of oil production in the USA and in the North America with development of shale gas and oil-bearing sand in Canada, as well as with oil production in the Gulf of Mexico.
