So far this year, Russia has increased its oil exports to non-CIS countries by 4.2% on a yearly basis to 160.7 million tons, or 4.85 million barrels per day.
In August, Russian oil supplies increased by 7.7% from the same period in 2016 to 19.7 million tons. Meanwhile, exports to CIS countries fell by 13% to 12.1 million tons. Shipments were made only to Belarus.
Earlier, the Wall Street Journal reported that the world's largest oil producers Russia and Saudi Arabia were calling for an extension of the agreement on cutting production for another three months until the end of June 2018.
In June 2017, Russia produced an average of 10.323 million barrels of oil a day, which is 253,000 barrels more than Saudi Arabia’s output for the same period (10.07 million barrels).
