Juncker suggests introducing euro in all EU countries

Speaking in the European Parliament on Friday, President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker proposed introducing the single European currency throughout the EU. In his opinion, the Eastern European countries should also join the eurozone.

According to Juncker, the euro should be introduced in countries with an unstable economy, such as Bulgaria, Romania, Poland and Hungary. As these countries are constantly criticizing the policy of the European Union, it is necessary to launch a program of technical and financial assistance. Currently, the euro area includes 19 out of 28 countries of the EU.

In addition, the EC President called on all heads of the European Union to establish a closer cooperation within the EU to ensure competitiveness of the European industry.

The media also reported that Junker did not include the United States in the number of countries with which the EU should expand trade agreements in the coming years.

In early September, Reuters reported that the Hungarian government plans to ask the European Union to allocate funds to pay for the wall against migrants that was built on the border of the country.
