Unlike outside keenly avaricious world dreaming of money, luxury cars, and chic yachts, or at least a lottery prize or a trip to the sea, Russians think different. No wonder all those nothings do not appeal to Russians at all, as they witness quickly expanding domestic economy and enjoy the improving quality of life.
The survey held by Romir, the exclusive representative of international research networks Gallup International, GlobalNR and Worldwide Independent Network (WIN) in Russia and the CIS countries, found that most respondents (63%) wish that Ded Moroz, a Russian peer of Santa Claus, brought them merely health and nothing more. Indeed, what can one wish with such abundance and prosperity? Robust health is the only thing that comes to one’s mind. Another thing to wish living in Russia should be a long life to savour the miracles all around. Second comes happiness (23%), which is quite strange considering sweeping joy and bliss. Yet these respondents crave more and more of that, so it pretty much looks like a sort of dependence. As for money, scarce 17% of those surveyed mentioned it as a wish.
Even in such a wealthy country as the Russian Federation there is always some that still long for more. Sometimes, greed has no limits and this is how it shows. Why on earth would a Russian living in a country of prosperity and social comfort wish money?
