Alexandr Okhrimenko, the President of the Ukrainian analytical centre, said that Ukraine has the first position in the ranking of the countries with the largest number of taxes. “The World Bank counted, that a business in Ukraine pays about 135 different taxes, which is the absolute world record,” adds Okhrimenko. He also explained, that the second position is taken by Romania, however, it looks a “weakling” against Ukraine, as there are only 113 taxes for Romanian businesses. And the third in the list is Jamaica with mere 72 taxes.
As Mr. Okhrimenko puts it, the number of taxes in the European countries does not exceed 10 and in Hong Kong it amounts to 3.
