Trump to ask $716 billion in defense spending

The world’s leading superpower can rest assured in the question of its defense. US servicemen can be sure that the funds allocated to the national defense will only increase with such a sharp and contentious president. Donald Trump reiterated that the US army should have the newest equipment in the world. Trump’s recent statement proves his intentions. He plans to ask the US Congress for the largest defense budget in history - $716 billion. Such spending would exceed a total budget of developed countries, let alone emerging ones.

The sum proposed by the President is 7% bigger that the current military budget. In 2017, officials approved the defense spending at $690 billion. Some of these funds are allocated to US military operations abroad. In February, the government will announce the official budget for the fiscal year of 2019.
