Despite that, the country’s government still supports the asteroid mission. The NASA is planning to park a near-Earth asteroid near the Moon to get minerals and water in 2025. NASA's budget for this mission is roughly $20 million.
All in all, NASA’s 2014 budget equals $17.5 billion, the Obama administration informs.
