Iran’s government decided not to use the US dollar in currency records and shift to the single European currency. Now the governmental statistics will be based on the euro. The official press release said that all ministries, governmental entities and companies should replace the US dollar with the euro in financial reports, statistics etc. The Central Bank of the Islamic Republic of Iran (CBI) was obliged to announce and control the exchange rate of the Iranian rial against the euro.
Earlier, the CBI set the exchange rate at 42 thousand rials per US dollar. The country’s authorities try to stabilize the national currency amid a possible rejection of the US to participate in the Iran nuclear deal.
