China has offered Britain to negotiate a free-trade agreement after Brexit. The Chinese government seeks to establish mutually beneficial relations with London amid its trade war with the United States.
Britain is scheduled to leave the EU in 2019. The UK made it clear that it is open for business with Chinese companies, stressing that China is among the countries with which it wants to sign a post-Brexit trade deal.
According to Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, both nations look to boosting trade and investment ties.
If signed, the trade agreement with China would be a triumph for the UK government. However, the start of negotiations is possible only after Britain leaves the EU, and the talks on free trade could take several years.
