The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development released the rating of the happiest countries in the world. The annual survey has 11 criteria such as public safety and health, housing, work-life balance, income, and education. This year Australia took the top spot for the third time in row. According to the research, 84% of Australians are satisfied with their lives. Moreover, the country's economy is growing due to increasing demand for ironstone and coal, which are the main minerals of Australia. Besides, the green continent has no unemployment problems, its life expectancy is 82, that is a few years more than in other countries.
The top 10 also includes Sweden, Canada, Norway, Switzerland, U.S.A., Denmark, the Netherlands, Iceland, and Great Britain. The Better Life Index rated the 36 OECD countries. Turkey is on the bottom of the list. Probably, the Turkish cannot feel happy because of a constant influx of tourists from Russia, which, by the way, holds position 32 in the overall rating.
