The government of China is aiming to boost its share in the market of modern line aircraft by 5%. In compliance with the Mid- and Long-Term Development Plan for the Civil Aviation Industry, China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology is supposed to achieve such results by 2020. The plan requires testing the C919 airliner, the ARJ21 turboprop-powered plane and the Xinzhou airliner, launching mass production of these airplanes and then exploiting them.
Among others aircrafts, water-bombing plane, search and rescue amphibious aircraft, 6,000kg-class medium utility helicopter Zhi-15 (Z-15) will come into the market. Growing national aircraft production will put the income of the civil aviation companies at 100 billion yuan ($16.3 billion). For now, the Celestial Empire has 47 companies transporting people and freight through the air. One of the priorities of the plan is breaking the duopoly of Airbus and Boeing in the domestic market and ensure the passenger travel via Chinese-produced airliners. To date, there are 180 airports with 2,888 planes in the People's Republic of China.
