While the first place in terms of oil production was a predictable result, the leading position in gas output turned out to be unexpected. Delivering his State of the Union address to the Congress, American President Donald Trump summed up the results of the past year and announced that the US is the world leader in terms of oil and gas production. He claimed that the country have unleashed a revolution in American energy. According to Trump, the United States is now the number one producer of oil and natural gas in the world. Let's recall the president's statements made in January that the growth of oil output in the States is “bad news for Russia.” Now this bad news has become a bad reality.
