US Finance Minister changes his much ridiculed signature

The U.S. Treasury Secretary Jack Lew has unveiled his new signature after it was mocked for being too loopy, The New York Times reports. Lew's new autograph was posted on the Treasury Department website and it will soon grace the dollar bills of the new series.
Jack Lew was appointed as the U.S. Treasury Secretary in February 2013. However, the mass media scrutinized his penmanship short after as it looked like several ovals connected into one chain. In particular, The Daily Show and Colbert Report discussed Lew's autograph sarcastically.
The new signature as it can be seen on the U.S. dollar bills is more legible and resembles the official's name. The Treasury Department refused to comment on Lew's fresh autograph, but noted that he has not tested it yet.
The first banknote adorned by Jack Lew's signature is expected to be the 5-dollar bill.
The Treasury Secretary's signature is obligatory for the U.S. banknotes. Since the new chief is chosen, there are 18 weeks ahead to prepare new plates for the dollars. The secretary has to sign 10 times to choose the most appropriate penmanship.
According to Jack's predecessor, Timothy Geithner, signature's modification is a regular practice. Geithner himself has changed his autograph to place it on the banknotes to make his name more readable.
