At the end of 2018, the net profit of Chinese electronics manufacturer Xiaomi Corp amounted to 13.48 billion yuan ($2.01 billion), compared to a loss of 43.89 billion yuan in 2017. Xiaomi's annual revenue jumped 52.6 percent to 174.92 billion yuan, the company said.
The highest revenue was registered in the Internet of things and electronics segments. It showed a growth of 86.9 percent to 43.8 billion yuan. Xiaomi increased sales of TVs by 225 percent and introduced its own model of an air conditioner and a washing machine.
Smartphone sales went up 41.3 percent to 113.8 billion yuan, compared to 2017.
Revenue from the internet services segment grew 61.2 percent to 16 billion yuan, while advertising revenue jumped by 79.9 percent to 10.1 billion yuan.
The overseas revenue amounted to 40 percent, up from 28 percent in 2017. The company managed to increase sales by 118 percent to 7 billion yuan.
Xiaomi is in demand in India, where it has been the most popular brand of smartphones for the past six quarters in a row. In Indonesia, the company ranked second last year, and in Western Europe, it took the fourth place.
The company listed its shares on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in early July last year. Since then, its capitalization has decreased by 28 percent.
Xiaomi, founded in 2010, is considered one of the four largest smartphone manufacturers in the world.
