Western sanctions turned out to be a perfect opportunity to buy oil at a low price. China does not miss such a chance and purchases it on the cheap. Considering that China is the world's largest oil importer, it used to lay down conditions to its partners, but after the imposition of the American sanctions against Venezuela and Iran, the country's position became even more advantageous. China uses the right of a regular and almost exclusive customer confidently increasing supplies. Moreover, the value of purchases declined to a low since November 2017. China has such “one-sided friendly relations” with several countries at once buying resources or changing them for consumer goods from Chinese manufacturers.
While the leaders of Iran and Venezuela talk about reorientation to the East, believing that they still have reliable business partners who do not pay attention to the US attacks and stand ready to provide financial support and participate in joint projects, China is enjoying the current state of affairs.
