Real Madrid tops the Forbes' list of 50 most valuable sports teams that was released on July 15.
Madrid soccer club, which is worth $3.3 billion, has the highest income in the world sport. For 2011 and 2012 Real Madrid gained $650 million. Moreover, for the last three years the earnings of these nine-time European champions have jumped by 62%. Manchester United and Barcelona are also in the top 3 with $3.2 billion and 2.6 billion correspondingly.
The European soccer trio is followed by sixth American baseball and football teams such as New York Yankees (or Bronx Bombers) and Dallas Cowboys. Arsenal, London-based soccer club occupies the 10th position.
Real Madrid was founded in 1902. The current team coach is Carlo Ancelotti, who replaced former manager Jose Mourinho. Florentino Perez has been the club's president since 1995. However, officially 93,000 club members, who annually pay a $195 fee, are considered as Real owners.
Forbes has been making the ratings on the most valuable sports teams since 1998. Manchester United had received that title for the last three years in a row.
