The Office of Management and Budget Director Sylvia Mathews Burwell ordered to begin closing down on September 30 at 23:50 Washington time.
The authorities have had to take such a step as the policy makers failed to reach an agreement on the budget draft for the new financial year that begins on October 1.
Just one hour before the 1st of October, the U.S. President Barack Obama signed a law according to which all the payments to the U.S. servicemen will continue on normal duty should the government stop working.
The shutdown will cover 800,000 officials will face unpaid leave. Moreover, NASA will take a break except for Mission Control Center.
The government offices are left without pay after the Republican-led House of Representatives Senate refused to endorse the bill unless it delayed the Affordable Care Act .For Obama the health law is very important. The Senate that is ruled mainly by the Democrats declined to bring that measure to the floor for a vote.
In the video interview to the military and civil personnel of the U.S. Army released after the government stoppage, Barack Obama promised to do everything to overcome the crisis with government funding . “And we'll continue working to address any impact this shutdown has on you [military] and your families,” – he concluded.
