Anti-government riots could ensure Trump’s victory in elections

The ongoing wave of social riots seems to increase Donald Trump’s odds in the presidential elections which are scheduled for the autumn this year. The COVID-19 pandemic and anti-racial sentiment in the US could be playing into Trump’s hands. Protesters strongly advocate against the President’s administration and his second term in the White House. Nevertheless, law-abiding Americans are fed up with the clashes triggered by the defiant spirit. Indignation has become an excuse for havoc in cities, violence, and banal plundering. In light of the recent events, decent, educated, and hard-working Americans are looking at the situation from a different angle. If robbers and plunderers are against Donald Trump, it would be a good idea to support him.

Something similar has happened in contemporary American history. In the XX century, anti-government riots accompanied by arson and looted stores assured the nationals to vote for Richard Nixon and Ronald Reagan. Likewise, jaded Americans longing for the order and safety are likely to support Donald Trump.

Meanwhile, Joe Biden, Trump’s fierce rival, has been taking the lead in the latest opinion polls conducted in most states in May and June. The Democratic nominee is marginally lagging behind the incumbent President only in Pennsylvania. Some experts think that senior voters could shift focus towards Joe Biden betting on his efficient leadership that will stamp out civil unrest in the future. In other words, time will tell who will win the presidential election in November. Any election in the US is a tough competition between two powerful candidates that could end with unpredictable outcome.
