Since late July, the US has been logging lower coronavirus rates. Eventually, major efforts of the US authorities have ensured modest success. The largest global economy has always been under the magnifying glass of investors and analysts. So, the superpower just cannot afford to provide fake statistics and downplay the gravity of the drama. Interestingly, the US President seems to be the only person who denied and then neglected the pandemic across the country. In the meantime, the US used to top the death toll at the peak of the pandemic and record alarming rates of coronavirus cases for a few months in a row. The authorities have not been able to stamp out the pandemic for long. In fact, the White House has been frequently targeted by Americans for its inefficient measures against COVID-19.
"We are beginning to see evidence of significant progress nationwide," Trump said at a press conference at the White House. "An encouraging sign. Very encouraging," the president added. He praised governors of the states which are acknowledged to be clusters of the infection. So, new coronavirus cases fell 37% in Arizona, 18.7% - in Texas, 21.2% - in Florida. "The virus is receding. In hot spots across the south and west, we've seen slow improvements from their recent weekly peaks," Donald Trump made a conclusion.
Nevertheless, it is too early to celebrate the victory. The US leader reminded reporters that some states have to reinforce the virus management due to the resurgence of new cases. In fact, the healthcare authorities are worried about growing COVID-19 rates in Georgia, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Missouri, and Tennessee.
