US President Donald Trump denied rumors concerning the desire to add his face to Mount Rushmore next to the founding fathers of the United States. Nevertheless, Trump noted that it was actually a good idea.
“This is fake news by the failing New York Times and bad ratings CNN,” Trump wrote on Twitter. The President also clarified that he never suggested putting his face on Mount Rushmore. However, it sounded like a good idea to him. Trump actually expressed interest in adding his image to the sculpture based on many things accomplished during the first three and a half years of his presidency. It seems like by addressing the issue he is trying to check out what American citizens think about it. As for the news itself, there is no smoke without fire, as they say. According to several resources, Trump asked South Dakota's governor about how to add another president to Mount Rushmore. Taking into account Trump's eccentric behavior, such reports are not surprising. The massive sculpture carved into Mount Rushmore was created in 1927-1941. It features the heads of the founding fathers – Presidents George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln.
