The executive officials of the Chinese spy company Huawei are looking forward to the outcome of the presidential race in the United States. Such keen interest is explained by the tech giant’s little, but still, hope for changes in the White House policy towards the smartphone manufacturer.
Experts have already called the possible election victory of former US Vice President Joe Biden as the only hope for Huawei. As long as the current US President Donald Trump remains in power, there is no use to expect even a slight easing of the previously imposed sanctions.
Therefore, China is all for Biden becoming the next US president. Otherwise, Trump will likely offer a new package of sanctions. Moreover, the American leader is contemplating a plan to deprive the corporation of high-quality equipment, primarily Kirin processors, which are manufactured in Taiwan using American technology. Huawei’s remaining supplies will be enough until the end of this year which means that the production of new mobile devices remains in question.
Most likely, Huawei will employ hardware of Chinese companies which are not particularly afraid of American sanctions due to the large domestic market and of a Taiwanese firm, MediaTek, which does not use US technologies. Anyway, Huawei's products will no longer be of the same quality.
