It seems that Huawei is doing everything possible to persuade the whole world of its innocence, showing that the company is wrongly accused of being a spy. Thus, Huawei’s executives proudly announced that they have managed to trick both Washington and Donald Trump. For its 5G networks, the telecommunications provider uses components that are based on US technologies. These are primarily chips. However, the United States banned the American chip manufacturers from selling components to the tech giant by introducing sanctions against Huawei this August. Notably, the situation had started to deteriorate long before the US imposed its sanctions. In the light of rising tensions, the company began purchasing processors already in winter. In total, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing sold over two million such processors to Huawei during this period. According to the report delivered by Huawei, these chips will be enough to build 5G networks for China’s largest telecom operators such as China Mobile, China Telecom, and China Unicom. Since the number of countries unwilling to cooperate with Huawei continues to rise, the Chinese domestic market has become the company's main refuge. Countries such as the US, Canada, Australia, Japan, the United Kingdom, and Sweden have already declared a boycott on Huawei services. There is information that the US even offered one billion dollars to Brazil, if the country chooses to cooperate with other equipment manufacturers instead of Huawei.
