According to Agence France-Presse, in France two top managers of a local IKEA store were put under investigation over allegations they had spied.
Stefan Vanoverbeke, the Chief Executive of Ikea France, and Chief Financial Officer Dariusz Rychert were arrested and held for questioning.
TV channel Europe1 says there were searches in the main office of French IKEA. The criminal case, under which Vanoverbeke and Rychert were arrested, was started in early 2012. According to the law-enforcement agencies, the company’s managing personal had spied for their employees and clients using illegal access to data base of the police. In terms of the case the accusations were brought against several IKEA workers and four policemen.
