Whitechapel Bell Foundry, Britain's oldest manufacturing company, ringing the changes by launching an online store, where handbells and doorbells are available to buy, Guardian said on November 25.
The company specializing in church bells and musical handbells was established in 1570. In 2011, the foundry was commissioned to cast a special bell to be rung at the start of the 2012 London Olympics opening ceremony.
In the middle of 19th century, Whitechapel Bell Foundry was involved in building a bell, which was later designated as Big Ben. Moreover, the Liberty Bell in Philadelphia, the symbol of American independence, is also the foundry’s creation.
