Warren Buffett says ‘never bet against America’

Warren Buffett, the living legend among investors, has recently unveiled his annual letter to Berkshire Hathaway shareholders. Notably, he has been publishing the letter for six decades. This is why it has become a must read for traders around the world. In his message, Buffet assesses the current market situation as well as gives invaluable pieces of advice.

Billionaire Warren Buffett recommended investors maintain their faith in America’s economy, saying that it will thrive in the near future in spite of the pandemic’s negative consequences. "In its brief 232 years of existence, however, there has been no incubator for unleashing human potential like America. Despite some severe interruptions, our country’s economic progress has been breathtaking," he wrote. To outline how broad and gainful the US market could be, he joked that even a monkey, throwing darts, may earn on stocks.

"A patient and sensible monkey, who builds a portfolio by throwing 50 darts at a board that includes the entire S&P 500" could increase his capital," he pinpointed. According to Warren Buffett "all that is required to win in the stock market is time, calm, diversification and minimization of fees."

Buffett also highlighted that the US economy is still the strongest one in the world. Besides, it is unlikely to lose its status. "Success stories abound throughout America,” the investor said. “Since our country’s birth, individuals with an idea, ambition and often just a pittance of capital have succeeded beyond their dreams by creating something new or by improving the customer’s experience with something old." Thus, he concluded, "Never bet against America."
