In 2013 World of Tanks gained $372 million, the SuperData survey showcased. Thus, this computer game has managed to leave World of Warcraft behind with $213 million profit in microtransactions alone.
Both of them are on the list of the games that received the biggest gains that are based on purchases of different artifacts and options. CrossFrire shooter came in at number one with the revenue of $957 million and League of Legends was the second with $624 million. The third was Dungeon Fighter Online with $426. World of Tanks was the fourth and World of Warcraft took the seventh position. The ten top of free-to-play games included Maplestory, Lineage I, Star Wars: The Old Republic, Team Fortress 2, and Counter-Strike Online.
SuperData estimated the online game market in the USA solely – the combined revenue totaled $2.89 billion in 2012. The indicator propelled 45% compared to the previous year.
World of Tanks simulates the armored combat. The game was developed by the Belorussian company Wargaming founded in 1998 by student Viktor Kisliy. Wargaming is creating such games as World of Warships and World of Warplanes as well.
