US companies have again topped Boston Consulting Group’s total shareholder return (TSR) rating. While many prophesied the American business a prolonged recovery from the pandemic, the industry actually benefited from a global lockdown.
Notably, Shopify, a Canadian multinational e-commerce company, came in at number one on the list. Its TSR for five years equals 113%. In fact, the rating is dominated by US companies. Thus, semiconductor producer AMD is ranked second (99.9%) and Square, a financial services and digital payments company, takes third place on the list (75.5%). Graphics processing unit manufacturer NVIDIA (74.5%) and electric vehicle producer Tesla (71.2%) are in the top 5 of the TSR rating. Overall, companies from the United States make up 41% of the ranking, while 37% of them are among the leaders of certain industries. Both results are the best among all countries.
At the same time, 15 firms from Russia have also been included in BCG’s list. All they are divided by economic sectors they operate in.
