Analysts are concerned that the US economy will never be the same again. According to Moody’s Analytics, economic indicators in the US are likely to remain below pre-pandemic levels forever. The country has already approached the point of no return.
Experts at Moody’s Analytics have analyzed 37 key indicators that determine the current state of the US market and the level of well-being of the citizens. As it turned out, the county may never get back to the standards of living before the deadly virus and all the problems caused by it. The so-called Back-to-Normal Index is based on the survey of a great number of indicators, including consumer credit, unemployment claims, job postings, domestic air travel, and hotel occupancy.
The US has faced a serious challenge. Firstly, the number of jobless claims is twice as high as before the pandemic. In addition, the majority of people are still working remotely, which is a major structural change in the traditional business model. Secondly, the economy cannot fully recover until the tourism sector faces challenges amid coronavirus restrictions. Under the current circumstances, only strong investor interest in US projects can save the country given that the pandemic has changed the fundamentals of the market.
