Manchester United can no longer count themselves as the highest earning football club in Europe. According to the Deloitte’s newest edition of the Football Money League rating, Manchester United dropped out of the top three. This year Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Bayern Munich have surged into the first, second, and third spots correspondingly. There can be no obscure wording in sport. So, here are the bare figures and facts. Real Madrid earned 6 million more to 519 million euros in the last season to sit at the top of the pile. Barcelona showed steady results – the income did not change compared to other seasons and totaled 483 million euros. As for the Bayern Munich, the football club could yield staggering 63 million to 431 million euros. Dropping down the list, Manchester United could earn just 424 million euros which is just 28 million euros more than in the previous season. However, there were other movers on the list. Thus, Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester City became closer to the title of the wealthiest Europe’s football club. Chelsie, Milan, and Arsenal dropped some positions. Besides, Turkish Fenerbahçe, Italian Roma, and Spanish Atletico Madrid made it into the top twenty. The combined club’s revenue rose by 8% to 5.4 billion euros. Apart from Barcelona and some Italian clubs who earn mostly from media rights, other clubs get profit mainly from commercial contracts.
