Steven Seagal, a Russian resident, and a faded action movie actor appeared to be a fraud.
In practice, the actor is different from his screen images. His characters are a great example of honor and dignity. They are ready to sacrifice themselves to save others. On the contrary, Seagal not only assaulted women but also regularly flashed in scandals related to various kinds of fraud, including financial. Another notorious milestone in his career was the failure to disclose payments he received for advertising the cryptocurrency Bitcoiin2Gen.
The Securities and Exchange Commission initiated an investigation against Seagal. The SEC officials found that the actor’s income he received for advertisement-related activities was undisclosed. The SEC charged Seagal with $200,000 in disgorgement. The amount includes a fine for the committed violation and a penalty fee. Federal Judge William Kuntz in Brooklyn, NY, issued a ruling in favor of the SEC. Notably, Seagal previously agreed to pay $330,000 in disgorgement and penalties but only $75,000 of the total sum was paid.
