After Zuckerberg’s speech, in just one week the currency Decentraland (MANA) and the token of the game project SandBox (SAND) rose by 300% to $3.3 and by 240% to $3.1 respectively. Both Decentraland and SandBox are creating metaverses, within which players can earn money by selling virtual assets. However, experienced market participants do not predict a protracted rally of these tokens.
Notably, at the end of October, Facebook founder announced a rebranding. The company changed its name to Meta to emphasize its refocus on developing a metaverse. The new logo is a blue Mobius strip. The company will concentrate on creating a metaverse where a person will experience the effect of being present in virtual reality.
