Trump’s social media start-up lines up $1 billion from investors

It was reported on December 6 that the media company of Donald Trump, ex-president of the United States, raised $1 billion from investors.

Donald Trump’s social media start-up, Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG), announced the funding would support his forthcoming social media website, TRUTH Social. The former president reckons that such investments show the willingness of Americans to stay in touch with the national leader. "America is ready for TRUTH Social, a platform that will not discriminate on the basis of political ideology," Trump said in a statement.

According to the ex-president of the United States, users will feel free on this platform and nobody will discriminate against them based on their political views. The merger of Trump's media company with Digital World Acquisition, also known as SPAC, will make the funding for this project possible. The former head of the state announced the launch of TRUTH Social at the end of this year. "We live in a world where the Taliban has a huge presence on Twitter, yet your favorite American President has been silenced," Trump noted. Truth Social aims to open to “invited users” for a beta test soon.
