It seems that Donald Trump has kept his promise to create his own social media network. The 45th president of the United States announced that his company Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG) raised $1 billion in investment for this project. Donald Trump has repeatedly criticized popular social media platforms, was banned from Twitter and Facebook, threatened to close them, and accused the networks of terrible bias against conservatives. Since then, the former president has decided to create his alternative platform called TRUTH Social that would rival the existing ones and make the Internet great again. "We live in a world where the Taliban has a huge presence on Twitter, yet your favorite American President has been silenced," Mr. Trump wrote. The new project will be funded right after the merger of TMGT with a SPAC company called Digital World Acquisition. As stated on the TMTG official website, all funds will be spent on launching TRUTH Social. According to Trump, “$1 billion sends an important message to Big Tech that censorship and political discrimination must end. America is ready for TRUTH Social.” He describes the new network as “a platform that will not discriminate on the basis of political ideology.”
