Tesla and SpaceX founder and CEO Elon Musk is the first person in the world who is officially declared the richest homeless. He sold his last real estate at the end of 2021. Despite the recent nosedive in Tesla stocks, the talented entrepreneur retains the title of the wealthiest man on the globe. He announced on Twitter in May 2020, "I am selling almost all physical possessions. Will own no house". The bizarre inventor owned six properties. He fulfilled his pledge and sold his final home in late December, the luxurious mansion in Hillsborough (California). The billionaire’s 18,000 square-feet home was bought for $32 million. Back in 2017, Elon Musk purchased this property for $23.4 million. Once the deal was settled, the world’s richest mogul according to Forbes Real-Time rating found himself in a surreal status of owning no homes. His net worth is currently estimated at $274.4 billion.
The billionaire wants to focus on his ambition to send humans to Mars. Earlier, he supported the appeal of Executive Director for the UN World Food Program David Beasley who called on Elon Musk to donate $6 billion to struggle with hunger in low-income countries. This money accounts for just 2% of his wealth.
