According to CEO of Alibaba Group Holding Limited Daniel Zhang, the Chinese e-commerce giant aims to become carbon neutral in its operations by 2030. Alibaba's long-term goal is also to reduce supply chain emissions by 50%.
To implement its plan, the company will turn to renewable energy in its data centers. Green technology is also essential for the production of electric vehicles. Alibaba Cloud believes that it will use 100% of clean energy by 2030.
The Chinese e-commerce giant advocates for reducing emissions, in particular when operating its platform. The company's long-term objective is to eliminate 1.5 gigatons of carbon emissions by 2035. Alibaba will stick to environment-friendly initiatives in the near future.
