The 2022 Winter Olympic Games in Beijing ended a long time ago, and its participants have already returned home. In some countries, winning an Olympic medal is not considered to be a prize-worthy feat. Other countries award generous monetary rewards to their winners. Singapore offers the biggest prizes for its medalists: $737,000 for a gold medal, $369,000 for silver, and $184,000 for bronze. Kazakh Olympic winners would receive $250,000 for the first place, $150,000 for the second place and $75,000 for the third place. In Malaysia, athletes taking the Olympic podium would get $236,000, $71,000, and $24,000 respectively. However, neither of these countries have managed to win a single medal. In the US, where winning Olympic medals is not considered extraordinary, gold medalists were awarded $37,500, while silver and bronze medalists received $22,500 and $15,000 respectively.
Russia has always regarded winning sports competitions as a matter of national pride - its winners have been frequently promoted as heroes. First place winners were awarded 4 million RUB (about $41,640). Second and third prize winners received 2.5 million RUB (about $18,315) and 1.7 million RUB (about $12,454) respectively.
