On Sunday, March 20, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg revealed that he was planning to add Non-Fungible tokens (NFT) to Instagram. The MetaMask crypto wallet will allow users to store, send, and receive Meta-minted tokens. According to the Meta CEO, NFTs will be available on Instagram in the coming days. In December 2021, Instagram head Adam Mosseri also flagged that the Meta-owned platform was also actively looking at NFTs on Instagram. ConsenSys’s CEO Joe Lubin stated that MetaMask was about to mint its own tokens. In the meantime, the company is planning to launch a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) responsible for the funding of the project. Using a $100 million investment, the blockchain platform will support more than 1,000 startups related to the decentralized economy. These startups are developing new opportunities to connect 10 million smart devices to the MachineFi platform. Analysts say that the decentralized machine economy is a promising industry of the near future. It is a fast-growing area of the IT industry, in which machines are the driving force of economic growth.
