Gloom and doom accompany Biden's presidency

US President Joe Biden shows incredible resilience and professionalism being at the helm of power in such troubled times. Since assuming office in January 2021, Biden’s administration has dealt with several of the world's largest crises and upheavals such as the coronavirus pandemic and the war in Ukraine. Nevertheless, Biden seems to be coping well with all the challenges. Or does he?

Joe Biden's presidency lasts only 14 months. Throughout this period, the government had to mitigate crises that directly or indirectly affected the United States. The coronavirus pandemic and the crisis in Ukraine have triggered record inflation, including a sharp rise in fuel prices. Some voters may associate all these problems with the incompetence of Biden’s administration. As a result, they could be bitterly disappointed with Democrats, depriving them of their votes. Analysts believe that voters will hardly notice that the country has been able to pass all the challenges with flying colors so far. "Biden has a cursed presidency. He’s gotten nailed by the continuation of Covid, by inflation being out of control, and now soaring energy prices that are hitting voters in the pocketbook. They want to be able to get gas for their cars and not spend a hundred bucks, " Larry Jacobs, the director of the Center for the Study of Politics and Governance at the University of Minnesota, said.

Another misfortune that Biden has to deal with is a jump in gasoline prices. They soared due to the commodity shortage after an imposed ban on Russian oil. As a result, gasoline prices reached a record high of $4.43 per gallon in the US. Economists also point out that excluding geopolitical headwinds, demand for gasoline climbed after the easing of quarantine restrictions.
