However, the US administration and President Biden say that they are working on the issue. The head of the State pinned blame on Russian President Vladimir Putin for skyrocketing gasoline prices in the country, calling this “Putin's price hike,” which is “hitting Americans at the pump.” Notably, the spike in gasoline prices began before the events in Ukraine due to the recovery of demand after the pandemic and lagging supply.
