China views the US as responsible for the military actions occurring in Ukraine. The Global Times, an English-language Chinese newspaper, published an article revealing seven sins the US committed in the unfolding Ukraine crisis. The first one is “sticking to the Cold War mentality that aggravates global division.” According to the article, the US only thinks about its national security keeping a close eye on foreign countries that pose a menace of eliminating the Americans. The Global Times journalists stress that it is the United States that classifies other countries into "democratic vs authoritarian." The world has seen a lot of confrontations due to this principle. The US is also blamed for “sowing geopolitical grievances detrimental to world peace.” The White House always wanted to see Russia and Europe fighting to tie the latter to its wagon, the article explains. To confirm this statement, the authors cited Josep Borrell’s words that the EU "made several mistakes and missed the chance to get closer with Russia." As it usually happens, the US could not get away from other stinging rebukes. The country was criticized for propping up greenback hegemony, practicing double standards on human rights, harboring biological weapons, and using wars to shift the blame for domestic issues.
