Newly elected PM Liz Truss has the lowest approval rating of any UK prime minister, according to the latest Opinium poll. Only one in five Britons believe that Liz Truss will be a better Prime Minister than Boris Johnson.
Truss’s personal approval rating is now the worst ever recorded for a prime minister. It is even worse than that recorded for Johnson before his resignation. Only one out of five residents of the United Kingdom (18%) supports Liz Truss’s policy, while about 55% of respondents disapprove of the job she is doing. She has an overall approval rating of -37. It gives her a worse net rating than the -28 that Johnson registered at the most turbulent time.
This is the worst rating among all prime ministers from the Conservative Party since the 2010 elections, James Crouch, a senior research manager in the financial services and public affairs team at Opinium, pinpointed.
Truss is the first PM in the history of the country whose ratings plummeted to the lowest levels in the space of a few weeks from the moment of taking office and several days after making the first political decisions.
