US President Joe Biden has been inaccurate about gas prices again. Recently, the country has been suffering from skyrocketing fuel prices that reached all-time highs. Many US citizens complain that they cannot afford to fill their cars at the pump as prices are extremely high. Meanwhile, the US leader tweeted that gas prices stood at $3.19 per gallon. "Right now, the most common price at gas stations across the country is $3.19 per gallon. That's progress," Biden said on Twitter. According to figures from the American Automobile Association (AAA), the average price of a gallon at gas stations was $3.8. This was 19% higher than the president claimed. Notably, Texas and Georgia were the only US states with gas prices under $3.2 at the time. Earlier, Nobel laureate Paul Krugman said that high gas prices harmed the reputation of the Democratic party before the midterms. He stressed that when gas reached an average of $5 a gallon, it seemed that Democrats' prospects to win the elections improved. However, prices went up later and their chances decreased.
