Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, may create his own smartphone, reports say.
Musk stated on Saturday, November 26, that he would be forced to create an alternative smartphone if Twitter is removed from Google Play or the Apple App Store and using the social network on these platforms becomes impossible.
“I certainly hope it does not come to that, but, yes, if there is no other choice, I will make an alternative phone,” he posted on Twitter. Musk said that he hopes to reach an understanding with Apple and Google.
The CEO of Tesla and SpaceX made a number of controversial changes to the social network after acquiring it. He unbanned the account of former US president Donald Trump, suspended remote work for all employees, laid off a significant number of Twitter’s personnel, and made verification a paid feature available to all users for $8 per month. The Twitter Blue subscription allows all Twitter accounts to receive the blue checkmark confirming their authenticity.
